Do you know, for instance, that BRSHS won first place among all 17 Regional Science High Schools in the country in the 1st National Science-Mathematics Summit for Regional Science High Schools that occurred from Feb 9 to 14 in Zamboanga City?

Yes, folks!  BRSHS ruled!!!! It won first place in both the students and teachers category.  Our school, which is gravely lacking in funding and facilities, has - against all odds - dominated the contest and routed the competition.  Aren’t you proud you are a Brisayeño?

On a personal note, I’d like to thank Mr. Nañoz, Mr. Peñaflor (who was not physically present but nevertheless made sure I was taken care of), Mrs. Maligaya, Ms. Rempis, Ms. Redita, Mr. Villamor, Mr. Pelgone, Ms. Llacer, and the rest of the BRSHS faculty, staff and students who have invited me to BRSHS and made me feel very welcome.  I had a really great time, and the food was fantastic!

To the BRSHS alumni, let me again appeal to your charitable instincts.  Our school badly needs your help.  Any kind of help will be very much appreciated.  Tew, I know, has some plans.  I think it’s great what you are planning to do, Tew! :)  I wish to chat to you about it sometime (not on Plurk probably as I don’t get to plurk much nowadays).

Once more, let’s congratulate BRSHS for a job well done.  Aim high, Brisay!!

Good afternoon.

The meeting, that’s supposed to be held last Saturday, will be moved to this coming Saturday, March 21, at 11AM in Thai’s Kitchen, Galleria Mall, Basement. Can I get the commitment of the majority to this meeting as early as today? For RSVP, please text May at 09194583567 or me at 09228893805.

Moreover, I will be attending the school’s commencement exercises on the 31st. So it would be great to bring news about Alumni Association plans for the next school year. Anyone, who will be there during said date? Everyone’s welcome to join me.

Also, the school, c/o Sir Randy Penaflor, requested if we could give the batch valedictorian an Alumni Award, preferrably a medal. I already gave my concurrence to this suggestion and will buy the medal. I hope everyone’s fine with this.

Last but not the least, attached is a solicitation letter from the school requesting from the association a donation of Php5,000 to augment the school’s budget in sending freshman and sophomore students to an intensive mathematics training program in Iloilo City on the 29th. Discussed this with past-President Roger Relucio and we both agreed to donate the amount, which will come from this year’s graduating batch’s alumni fees. Total fees colected, by the way, ammounted to Php5,900.

Happy new year everyone! ^_^ I know this is quite late, but still, as they say, better late than never, yes? Hehe.

Before I start with the agendas of this e-mail, I would like to thank all of you for entrusting to me the leadership of our infant organization. Special thanks to Mr. President Roger Relucio for nominating me. Let me assure everyone that the efforts of our founders will not be put to waste and that we, your newly elected officers, will do our best to involve everyone in conceptualizing and implementing projects that will benefit our beloved alma matter, the Bicol Regional Science High School and the new generation of students it currently serves.

Also, thank you Batch ‘98 for hosting our first ever grand alumni homecoming held last Dec. 27 at the Ligao City Gymnasium. All I can say is that it was awesome and you guys are simply amazing for coming up with a very entertaining program, given the time and financial constraints. You definitely set a very good standard for the next alumni homecomings to equal or even better. ^_^

The first agenda of this e-mail is addressed to all newly elected officers and batch coordinators. Please e-mail me personally your contact details (e-mail / cellphone number / address) so we can already start our communications and schedule our first meeting as officers of the association.

Second, who among us have the e-mail address of Sir Nañoz and other key officers of BRSHS? Care to share them with me? :p It would be best to include them in our preceding communications so they are in the loop of things and give inputs as project proposals arise.

There. ^_^ I enjoin everyone, especially my co-officers (including the batch coordinators) and the founders, to constantly visit our organization site and post updates.
